I am too sore to do Cardio.. Since I could not get to the gym and do my Shoulders and legs on Wednesday, I did them today. I worked the hell out of my legs and now I am paying for it.. I am too sore to go run tonight

I’m Complaining…….
I caught myself this mornign complaining about something I never thought I would ever complain about….. It’s been two days and I haven’t gone for a walk/jog…
Monday was a day off, Tuesday it was very cold out side, so I decided to go to the gym to jog. However I did not take into account one thing. If there is even a hint of ice or sleet falling down out side the entire city locks up, every one freaks out, and all the local news agencies station themselves at the major on/off ramps and give us continuous coverage of drivers who do not know how to drive on ice seemingly do a car and driver ice capade right into other cars, gaurd rails and so on…. So yeah the Gym closed down at 5pm and I was stuck at home.
Here it is Wednesday, the gym is STILL closed and this is how it looks out side.

SO yeah it is supposed to thaw a little later today, maybe the Gym will open and I can do my Wednesday Strength training, and cardio.
I could really use some Star Bucks …………………….

Might have over did it a bit tonight
Well, tomorrow my Phase 1 of the SBD is over. I am really not changing much, but I am adding in 1 orange to my diet for this week, and slowly work my way up to 3 servings of fruit a day I have learned that Phase 2 is a balancing act, and you have to find what works best for you. More than likely what works for you will NOT work for others………. I am really undecided if I really want to maintain south beach going forward. I have always known the ins and outs of eating healthly, fitness, and so on…….. I just never put them in practice on a consistant basis. I have been thinking that and especially recently that I am just going to use the SBD diet to jump start my weight loss, to help me move into a proper eating right and exercise routine. Either way, staying on, or jumping off the struggle is maintaining that routine. As each day goes by it gets easier and easier..
Tonight, on my outing I ran non stop more than I have, since I started…. hell since MANY MANY MANY years ago…. It was about half a mile, and when I finally moved to a walking pace. I was breathing very hard, my shins and knees ached, and I in my brain felt a little tinge of dizziness. I was not even into my first mile, and I wanted to turn back but a motto I repeat in my head over and over ( Thanks to THE KING) is “Pain is weakness leaving the body.” I finished my 2 mile walk, I did not run any more of the distance, but it was a small milestone, and I am well on my way to running a full mile.

I was hoping for more, but the Birthday Sabitage from Sunday did not help. Never the less a loss is a loss and I am not discouraged
Pain is Weakness Leaving the Body
Today was my Daughter’s Bday party. We were having a family get together, and for this family get together I laid out the following for Kayla’s Party Go’ers to eat.
Philly and Chili ( Philadelphia Cream cheese and Chili over the stove and melted together ) for dipping
Home made hot sauce consisting of Tomato, Onion, jalapeno, salt, Garlic salt, and random seasoning for taste
Tortilla chips, Fritoes, Cheetoes, and Wavy lays
As well as pickled okra, Cherry Tomatoes, Dill Pickles
Various sodas and Tea.
Finally the ever so infamous Birthday cake and Ice Cream
Out of the above, what did I eat? I sampled all of the above….
Knowing that I would pay for it otherwise I got out and jalked my 2 miles any ways. It is 30 degrees out side and I froze but I did it. My time…… 33 minutes

Today is Friday !!! The weekend is upon me and I am please. I weighed my self this morning I am down a total of 11lbs yeah yeah offical is on Sunday.
I also started Weight training today as well..
My Routine consists of .

Monday — Back and Chest
Lying Bent Over Rows — 4 sets
Flat Chest Presses — 4 sets
Flat Chest Flies — 4 sets
Dumbbell Shrug — 4 set s
Wednesday — Shoulders and Legs
Lateral Raises — 4 sets
Front Raises — 4 Sets
Dumbbell Lunges — 4 sets
Seated Calf Raises — 4 set s
Friday — Biceps and Triceps
Hammer curls — 4 sets
Concentration Curls — 4 sets
French Presses — 4 sets
Triceps Kickbacks — 4 sets
That’s three days a week, today I worked on my Biceps and Triceps… I do not want to injure my self so i was paranoid and only used 10lbs dumbbells for my Reps. I could have gone 20lbs but I seriously wanted to ensure I am doing these exercises right, and not at risk of tearing anything. Never the less by the 4th set I was feeling it, and I ended it pleased and feeling very accomplished. Pairing this with my cardio which is 5 days a week consisting of 2 mile walks/jogs I think i am on the right track.
Well
I went a whole day with out posting!!! I wonder when I will get to the point when I will grow content with my blog and maybe post once every three days? How about once a week? A month???? Nah……. I enjoy posting and my goal is to post atleast 3-4 times a week, I have met and surpassed that goal many times
Any rate yesteday I had painters over painting my house and it looks good! It motivated me to go out and trim my hedges and make them look nice and clean. NowI just need to work on keeping them water.
Last night for dinner I made a pretty awesome soup. Chopped up chicken breast, black beans, Salsa Verde, and Chicken broth brought together in to a pot.. The result was a high in protien low fat low sodium spicy yummy chicken soup. I of course did not take pictures
Its nice outside and I am really looking forward going for my walk.
Post Before bed time.
SO I have to admit, I cheated some what tonight. During Phase 1 of the South Beach Diet, you are not supposed to have ANY ( as in ZERO) bread. Well I ate one dinner roll with my meal of Smoked Turkey, Green Beans, and Side salad. There is a tinge of guilt, I have to admit but I know it is not going to slow me down or set me back…
In other news I got a Gym membership at our local rec center.
My very first Gym membership card. This is kinda a big step for me, as in the past I NEVER went to a gym. I was scared……..well more like to intimidated to go, mess with the fancy smancy gym equipment, and associate my self with the local Gym Rats(I hear they are called this). My daughter’s singing lessons are at the Rec. Center, and my wife talked me into going up there to check it out(By talking me into, I mean calling me chicken and afraid etc etc… What ever it worked) So any ways I checked it out, and decided what the hell and signed up.
I am going to have to make a new category now called. “TALES FROM THE GYM”
